The Ardent Homesteader

We handcraft our salted caramel sauce here in the Hudson Valley and raise our pork, beef, and chicken/eggs on pasture, supplementing their diets with local spent brewery grain, whey, and pre-consumer food scraps.

Local Purveyors: I use Cabot butter in my caramel sauce. Our animals' diet is supplemented with grain from Rushing Duck Brewery in Chester; pre-consumer food scraps from Dottie Audrey's Bakery in Tuxedo & The Fearless Cooking Co in Goshen; corn & oats from C Rowe & Sons in Campbell Hall; seasonally: whey from Edgwick Farm in Cornwall

Production Methods: I make my caramel in small batches, by hand.

Products: The Ardent Homesteader's Cara-Sel salted caramel sauce is handcrafted in small batches right here in the Hudson Valley with just five all-natural ingredients: organic sugar, cream, butter, sea salt, and vanilla. Five ingredients. No preservatives. Insanely delicious.
