Palaia Winery & Vineyard
Palaia is the place to Relax and feel the vibe, taste the wine, drink the beer, listen to the music in a wonderful 200 year old barn. We believe in a laid back kind of winetasting, where you taste a range of wines from dry to sweet. Why not try everything? That's what winetasting should be...if you like the wine that is great, if not, no problem, I'm sure we can find something you like here. We are the tie-dyed, hippy winery on the Shawangunk Wine Trail. Easy to find, just 5 miles North of the Woodbury Common Outlets just off the Thruway, exit 16. We have also become one of the best live music venue's in the Hudson Valley. Inside our historic barn in the winter, but in the summer, we have a 40 foot stage and huge tent and grounds to enjoy the music. You can get food here too - we have a small kitchen and serve food that just goes great with wine, craft beer, hard cider, and wine slushies. We offer a different experience that you will want to enjoy every weekend.
Production Methods: We grow 10 acres of our own grapes, but also buy from the Finger Lakes. We make the wine here in the lower half of the barn where it is also bottled. The winemaking is a family affair and so is the blending and production.
Products: We offer 8 different wines to keep it simple. Pearl Power is a semi-dry white blend, Moonblossom is a semi-sweet White Blend. Dead Red is a semi-sweet red blend, Zappa Franc is a Semi-dry red blend of Cabernet Franc grapes. Then we offer 2 Meads (Honey Wine)- our delicate Magical Mead and our Smead- strawberry Mead. We have a wonderful Rose' called Pinkish Floyd that is sweet but tart, and our newest offering - Crimson Clove, a spiced wine that is perfect for heating in the fall and winter, but can also be a great drink on ice in the summer.
