Kezialain Farm

We sell 100% grass-fed, certified organic beef. The cattle are raised on our 170-acre family farm, thriving on the native grasses and plants in the fields. We believe this sustainable use of the land that has provided food for our family for eight generations is healthy for the soil, the cattle and the environment – and for the people who eat Kezialain beef.

Grass-fed meat is much healthier than grain-fed: it is naturally lean with more Omega 3s and other important nutrients and anti-oxidants. Our cattle eat only our organic pasture and hay, organic minerals like kelp, and for the first six months of their lives, their mothers’ milk - never any grain. Organic certification (ours is through NOFA, NY) requires that no harmful medications (including hormones and antibiotics), dangerous chemicals or fertilizers or genetically modified substances are ever used on the cattle or in the fields. The low-stress lives, natural diet and healthy environment all contribute to high-quality, healthy, delicious meat.

Our beef is processed at a small organic USDA slaughterhouse where it is dry aged for 10–14 days to enhance flavor and tenderness, then processed, vacuum packed and frozen. We sell our beef on the farm by mixed quarters and eighths, as well as 20 pound packages of mixed cuts or ground beef. Kezialain Beef is also sold at Pleasant Stone Farm in Middletown, NY and Soons Orchards in New Hampton, NY.
